SMBC In A Nutshell
Who Are We?
Our church family comes from a diverse background, who believe that Jesus Christ died to save us. We come together to worship God and to show through love, faith and care, that God loves, works and cares for us.
What Can You Expect If You Visit Us?
You'll find that we're a very hospitable church - or at least we try to be. If you need anything while you are visiting please ask the people who greeted you at the door, or anyone who leads at the front.
The service varies from week to week. Our worship music is more contemporary than traditional, although we haven't discarded the richness that can be found in traditional hymns. We also use video illustrations, drama/puppets and sketches. There are groups for children and young people to go to while we meet.
Could we also encourage you to wait behind after the service? That's so you can join everyone for refreshments and a chance to chat. It would also give you the opportunity to ask us any questions you have, to ask for prayer or ask for help.
What Do We Believe?
We believe in God the Father, Creator of the heavens and the earth, in His Son, Jesus and in the Holy Spirit, one God. We believe that God sent His Son, Jesus Christ to die as a sacrifice for the sins of all who believe in Him, and that He raised Him to life, demonstrating that His promise of eternal life for all who believe is true.
We believe that the Bible is God's authoritative, living word. We believe that God answers prayer. We believe that Christians are to meet together in groups called churches, where their faith is expressed in worship, witness, praying, learning and in serving one another.
We believe that God doesn't care whether your music is played on an organ or an electric guitar. It's what's on your heart that matters. We believe that God doesn't care where you meet, but He does want to be the reason that you meet.
